A Different Approach to Baby Care
At Bump & Bub Chiro, we believe baby chiropractic care should feel calm, gentle, and supportive—not clinical or confronting.
Your baby’s body is developing rapidly in those early months. Their nervous system is learning, adapting, and responding to the world around them. Our role is simple:
Support development, not force change.
We don’t “crack” babies. We don’t use force.
Instead, we use light, precise, neurologically-focused techniques tailored specifically for infants.
Why Would a Baby Need Chiropractic Care?
Birth—even in the most natural settings—is a big physical and neurological event.
Factors like:
Positioning in the womb
Long or fast labour
Assisted delivery (forceps, vacuum, induction)
Caesarean birth
…can all place subtle stress on a baby’s spine, skull, and nervous system.
This doesn’t mean something is “wrong”—but it can influence how your baby:
Feeds
Sleeps
Settles
Moves and develops
Our focus is on supporting optimal function early, not waiting for issues to become more complex.
What Makes the Bump & Bub Chiro Approach Different?
1. Ultra-Gentle Techniques
We use pressure no greater than checking the ripeness of a tomato.
Techniques may include:
Cranial (craniopathy-style) work
Light fingertip adjustments
Nervous system regulation techniques
Everything is adapted to your baby’s size, stage, and needs.
2. Nervous System First
Rather than chasing symptoms, we look at how your baby’s nervous system is functioning.
This includes:
Tone and tension patterns
Reflexes and movement quality
Regulation (calm vs unsettled states)
Because when the nervous system is supported, everything else tends to follow.
3. Baby-Led Care
We never force a position or technique.
If your baby wants to:
Feed during the session
Be held
Move freely
We work around them.
→ This keeps the experience calm, safe, and positive for both baby and parent.
4. Supporting You, Too
Baby care isn’t just about the baby.
We guide parents with:
Feeding positioning tips
Tummy time strategies
Settling techniques
Developmental support at home
Because what you do daily matters just as much as what happens in the clinic.

Baby Chiropractic FAQ
How gentle are the chiropractic adjustments on newborns?
Chiropractic care for babies uses an extremely light touch — nothing like the adjustments you might picture for adults. The pressure applied is often compared to the amount you’d use to check the ripeness of a tomato or gently press on your closed eyelid. Techniques are tailored specifically to infants, focusing on subtle holds, gentle stretches, or cranial balancing. Many babies will sleep, feed, or stay calm during care. Can baby chiropractic help with breastfeeding issues or tongue-tie?
Feeding challenges such as difficulty latching, fussiness at the breast, or fatigue during feeding can sometimes be linked to tension in the jaw, neck, or tongue muscles. Chiropractors trained in paediatrics often work alongside lactation consultants and dentists to support babies experiencing these issues. While chiropractic care does not “treat” tongue-tie itself, it can help address compensations in the muscles and joints that may affect how a baby feeds, especially before and after tongue-tie release. At what age should I first bring my baby in to a chiropractor for preventive care?
Families often choose to bring their baby for a check in the early weeks of life, especially if the birth involved interventions such as forceps, vacuum, or caesarean section. Early assessment may help identify areas of tension or imbalance as the nervous system develops rapidly in the first year. That said, chiropractic care for babies can begin at any age — whether newborn, 6 months, or toddler years. The focus is always on supporting movement, comfort, and developmental milestones. Is neurological chiropractic care safe for babies with birth complications (C-section, forceps, vacuum extraction)?
Many babies who experienced birth interventions may show signs of tension — for example in the neck, jaw, or shoulders. Chiropractic techniques designed for infants are adapted to be safe and appropriate, regardless of birth history. Practitioners carefully assess each baby before providing care, and the approach is always gentle, precise, and responsive to the baby’s comfort. Chiropractors may also recommend working in partnership with other professionals (midwives, GPs, lactation consultants, dentists) where needed. What is reflex integration and how does it support baby development?
Babies are born with primitive reflexes — automatic movements like rooting, sucking, or the startle reflex — that help them survive in early life. Over time, these reflexes should “integrate” and make way for more advanced motor skills, such as rolling, crawling, and walking. If reflexes remain active for too long, they may affect posture, movement, or even behaviour. Chiropractors with training in reflex integration can assess these reflexes and use gentle techniques and exercises to support smoother neurological development.
